What is Design Thinking?

"It’s a method based on common sense." (Hasso Plattner)

Design Thinking at Hasso Plattner Institute follows in the tradition of a creative entrepreneurial attitude, with a consistent focus on the human perspective. Teaching, research, and professional training have always been targeted to meet a single objective: making Design Thinking useful for processes of innovation and change.

We have learned one thing from the more than 1000 student projects, the interaction with roughly 700 professionals from industry every year, and our Design Thinking research program: the definitions of Design Thinking are as multifaceted and individual as the people who practice it.
