Application Master's Program

It’s easy to apply for the Master’s program in “IT Systems Engineering“ at Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI), regardless of whether you are a German or a foreign prospective student.

Please apply between 1 November and 15 January (for the summer semester) or between 1 April and 15 July (for the winter semester) using the appropriate online portal from uni-assist e.V. Afterwards, please also submit the necessary application documents to uni-assist.

Foreign Applicants additionally need to contact the International Students Office (Akademische Auslandsamt) at the University of Potsdam. Here you can also get advice on how to provide proof of German language proficiency.

Admission

Please note:

Uni-Assist must receive your application by January 15th.   In accordance with the framework of the admission regulations of March 23, 2011, the timely receipt of the application is decisive, not the date of the postmark.

An admissions commission reviews the applications that were submitted in a complete and timely manner and then makes a decision. A total of 60 places for a Master’s study are awarded each year – to the best applicants.

Even if you do not completely fulfill all of the requirements, you still have a chance to be admitted to the program. The Commission might decide that you need to attend certain HPI classes in the Bachelor’s program.
