As a former student, you have access to numerous benefits, networking opportunities, and ways to stay involved. Through the HPI Connect Platform, alumni enjoy a unique online experience and get the best of our alumni services.
With over 1900 alumni spread across Germany and around the world, the HPI alumni community forms a diverse and supportive professional network spanning numerous sectors in the tech industry. We are proud to have among our alumni successful founders, senior tech managers and researchers such as Gero Decker, Founder of Signavio, Dr. Jürgen Müller, SAP and Prof. Dr. Alexandra Ion, Carnegie Mellon University.
HPI Alumni are invited to take part in a variety of events throughout the year:
Exclusively for alumni:
the Alumni Homecoming at the annual HPI Summer Party and events such as Oktoberfest or the New Year’s Reception, where guests can mingle in a relaxed environment on the HPI campus.For alumni and students:
the "HPI meets..." and "HPI Inside" event series, Fireside Chats and Alumni Spotlights, where founders and companies are invited to discuss their work in Tech Talks or panel discussions and engage with students during networking events.HPI conferences:
Alumni can access HPI conferences such as the “Potsdam Conference for National Cybersecurity”, AI@HPI et al.
Stay connected with our bi-monthly alumni newsletter, where we share the latest news from the alumni community, including breakthrough research, upcoming events, HPI news and exclusive job opportunities.
With the alumni and career portal you receive a lifelong alumni email address and can get in touch with other alumni and current students. The portal enables students and alumni to discover a variety of job opportunities.

With our new mentoring program launched in 2024, we match HPI alumni and other experienced professionals to support students in taking their first career steps, building confidence, and expanding their networks. Mentors get the opportunity to become role models, contributing to empowering the next generation of digital leaders. Mentor-mentee tandems meet regularly over several months, guided by a framework provided by the alumni office and with the support of student volunteers.
For HPI Alumni Companies and HPI Founders
You are a company, start-up or founder and are looking for new employees: HPI Connect offers your the possebility to get into direct contact with our students via the following services:
We invite our alumni to a unique in-person recruiting experience at the annual HPI Connect Fair at special conditions (by invitation only). Get to know talented HPI students and alumni through an engaging speed-dating format. Alumni startups are entitled to a discount.
We invite alumni entrepreneurs and other alumni who wish to hire HPI students or fellow alumni to use the HPI Connect Porta. Alumni startups get an exclusive 50% discount on all services on the platform and at the fair.
We invite alumni and companies to share industry insights and engage in dialogue with talented students during our TechTalks hosted in their offices or on the HPI campus. These sessions allow students to deepen their IT knowledge and explore new work environments in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere. Alumni are also invited at HPI to talk about their career path with students in these events.
