Joachim Lyon

Joachim Lyon is a PhD student at the Centre for Work, Technology, and Organization, Stanford University.  His interests include team and small-group cognition, work practice, and the use of representations in social problem solving processes. His current research focuses on how creative design work is conducted at the intersection of different organizational, occupational, and national contexts. Joachim has conducted research with the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2) and with the Interactive Cognition Laboratory, both at the University of California, San Diego. He holds a BA in Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego, and an MSc in Philosophy (specialization in mind and cognition) from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Prior to coming to Stanford, he also spent a year studying Mandarin at Peking University, China.
