Digital Masterpieces GmbH

One trillion photos are taken every year and billions of them will be shared online. Soon 90% of the world's internet traffic will be video. The impact of visual omnipresence is undeniable. With our high performance platform Digital Masterpieces empowers everyone to produce next-generation, significant images and videos, reducing the content to the most expressive and essential parts. Distilled information can be consumed in less time, it needs less storage space and thus a lower bandwidth is required to broadcast it to everyone with internet access, everywhere in the world. We combine awarded state-of-the-art computational imaging and visual analytics together with machine learning, enable real-time on-device image and video processing, and focus on a user-centered interaction concept with a simple design and easy-to-use interface.

Digital Masterpieces GmbH was founded in 2013 as a spin-off of the Computer Graphics Systems Group at the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) in Potsdam, Germany. The majority of the Digital Masterpieces team, particularly in research & development, are PhD students from the HPI. Due to the bilateral cooperation, Digital Masterpieces is able to integrate innovation from research and build a platform that represents the basis for a number of creative tools, apps, systems and services for all industries that create, manage, use and distribute visual media.
