EPIC @ VLDB 2015

Our research group is attending this year's VLDB Conference and conjoint workshops, taking place from August 31 to September 4 in Kohala Coast, Hawaii. VLDB is the premier annual international forum for data management and database researchers, vendors, practitioners, application developers, and users.

We have authored seven peer-reviewed publications that are going to be presented in several workshops and symposia:

  • Martin Faust, Pedro Flemming, David Schwalb, Hasso Plattner: Partitioned Bit-Packed Vectors for In-Memory Column Stores, Workshop on In-Memory Data Management and Analytics, in conjunction with VLDB 2015.
  • David Schwalb, Jan Kossmann, Martin Faust, Stefan Klauck, Matthias Uflacker, Hasso Plattner: Hyrise-R: Scale-out and Hot-Standby through Lazy Master Replication for Enterprise Applications, Workshop on In-Memory Data Management and Analytics, in conjunction with VLDB 2015.
  • David Schwalb, Markus Dreseler, Matthias Uflacker, Hasso Plattner: NVC-Hashmap: A Persistent and Concurrent Hashmap For Non-Volatile Memories, Workshop on In-Memory Data Management and Analytics, in conjunction with VLDB 2015.
  • David Schwalb, Tim Berning, Martin Faust, Markus Dreseler, Hasso Plattner: nvm-malloc: Memory Allocation for NVRAM, Workshop on Accelerating Data Management Systems Using Modern Processor and Storage Architectures, in conjunction with VLDB 2015.
  • Carsten Meyer, Martin Boissier, Adrian Michaud, Jan Ole Vollmer, Ken Taylor, David Schwalb, Matthias Uflacker, Kurt Roedszus: Dynamic and Transparent Data Tiering for In-Memory Databases in Mixed Workload Environments, Workshop on Accelerating Data Management Systems Using Modern Processor and Storage Architectures, in conjunction with VLDB 2015.
  • David Schwalb, Girish Kumar BK, Martin Faust, Anusha S, Markus Dreseler, Adolf Hohl, Tim Berning, Gaurav Makkar, Parag Deshmukh: Using non-volatile RAM for inherent persistence and fast recovery of an in-memory database, Poster Session, Symposium on Cloud Computing, 2015.
  • Matthieu Schapranow, Cindy Perscheid, Alf Wachsmann, Hasso Plattner: When Moving Data Is Inefficient: A Federated In-Memory Database System Supporting Life Sciences, Business Intelligence for the Real Time Enterprise, in conjunction with VLDB 2015.
