What is it?

Over the years the HPI Research School has been expanded to a state in which we are excited to welcome colleagues from University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa, the Technion, Israel, and Nanjing University, China. In order to foster collaboration and information exchange, we organized a pre-symposium activity event, so that PhD students from HPI, UCT, Technion, and NJU will get to know each other both on the social and the academic levels.

The event includes a mix of a social event, poster session, and demo presentations. The poster session that dives into the research topics of the attending PhD students, will follow a more informal pattern: eating ice cream while exploring other people posters and explaining yours!

Please find below the agenda of our pre-symposium event. The agenda of the official symposium on Future Trends in Service-oriented Computing can be found here.

Poster Session

Instead of having talks by every member of each research school, we will have an ice cream poster session where you can chat with your fellow colleagues and introduce them your research while enjoying tasty ice cream. For this, please bring a poster summarizing your research activities and vision, preferably in size A1.

General Information

We will arrange hotel reservations for our guests from Cape Town, Haifa, and Nanjing. Please contact us if you do not have accommodation yet.

Please note that the opening of the new Berlin airport (BER) has been delayed, check with your airline whether you are landing in Tegel (TXL) or Schoenefeld (SXF).

We will have WelcomeCards for those of you staying for more than two days - these will act as free passes for public transport in Berlin and Potsdam for 5 days and will be handed out at the Welcome Reception.

If you have any questions regarding the pre-symposium event, please contact Johannes Lorey.
