The AI Service Centre Berlin Brandenburg is a project at the Hasso Plattner Institute. We foster the use of artificial intelligence in industry and society.
We offer advisory, education and infrastructure to develop, operate and successfully deploy AI applications independently. All our services are free of charge.
Our services:
Virtual Showroom
To use AI independently, you will need access to models, code, datasets and expertise. Our virtual showroom offers all of these, showcasing the results of our research and project work.
Would you like to get in touch with us? Or be informed about our current events?
Advisory
Do you want to make effective use of artificial intelligence in your company, or do you need support with a specific AI project?
With our advisory services, we provide help for self-help. We support you in developing your AI skills in a target-oriented manner so that you can make informed decisions and implement AI projects independently.
Do you want to implement your own AI application in your organisation or company? With our AI advisory hour, we can support you in areas such as:
- Selecting a suitable AI use case
- Selecting suitable AI model architectures and AI software frameworks
- Implementing AI applications
- Using our computing infrastructure efficiently
Our advisory hours are held online in groups of up to ten participants from various organizations. If you have any further questions afterward, we would be happy to assist you in an individual one-on-one session.
Do you want to test an AI idea in your organisation?
In our AI pilot projects, we help you develop a prototype. This is used to test concepts and feasibility and is a basis for further development into a commercial, marketable solution.
What you can expect:
- Support in developing an AI prototype
- 2–3 days per week of active project support from our AI experts
- Use of our infrastructure for training and evaluation
Applications for AI pilot projects are accepted every three months. You can find out the start date of the next application phase in our newsletter or directly in our application form.
Do you want to build an AI start-up?
We will accompany you as a start-up during your development process. In addition to our AI advisory, pilot projects and collaborations, we will provide you with tailored support in networking.

Education
Our workshops are held in small groups so that the workshop leaders can tailor their teaching to the participants' prior knowledge. The workshops range from beginner-friendly workshops for school students to workshops on developing AI applications.
In cooperation with the HPI Youth Academy, we offer interactive workshops for school classes. These workshops teach students the basics of artificial intelligence in a playful way. Using the design thinking method, they develop their own ideas for AI applications.
At the AI RoundTable, we bring together experts and users from various industries. In a relaxed atmosphere, we discuss the latest AI trends, highlight current developments and provide insights into our support services for companies and organisations.
These workshops are aimed at developers and data scientists who want to gain practical insights into prototypical AI applications.
We offer online courses on various AI topics. Here you can deepen your knowledge through self-study. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate that officially confirms your AI skills.
We offer online courses on:
In our guest talks, experts from research, development and industry present current projects and show how AI technologies are applied in practice.
Our guest talks take place on site at the Hasso Plattner Institute. You can watch recordings of the talks on tele-TASK.

Infrastructure
With our data centre in Potsdam, we provide you with a heterogeneous infrastructure for artificial intelligence. This allows us to compare the costs and performance of different types of hardware, investigate edge applications and provide you with flexible solutions for training AI models and developing AI applications.
Are you looking for infrastructure solutions?
We are happy to assist you in selecting the right infrastructure for your AI project and inform you about the advantages and disadvantages of cloud, on-premise and hybrid solutions in our advisory.
If you want to develop and test your AI application with our infrastructure, please submit a description of your project via our portal. Please note that we do not offer productive operation or productive hosting.
