Molecular Tumor Board Process Facilitation

Benjamin Bergner

The many recent progressions in molecular biology and genomics have opened the door to a better understanding of cancer development and subsequently to new pharmacological treatment options even in advanced stages of cancer. To leverage the knowledge of the many different disciplines involved in the oncological treatment, Molecular Tumor Board meetings are held to discuss and decide upon the right therapy for the individual patient. The focus of our research is to gather a holistic view on the information processed there and, in a second step, we develop a software accessing the relevant data of the manyfold available resources as well as accompanying the process of planning, carrying out and documenting the Board meetings.
