Digitize Rocks

Digitize Rocks is a software solution for digitizing geoscientific data. Many geoscientific field works are still carried out analogously with paper and pencil today, because the often extreme conditions, such as drilling, make this necessary. Until now, the collected data had to be prepared individually for a large number of further processing operations. This can be either graphical representations such as scientific publications or presentations, or the use of expert tools, which then allow 3D representations or analysis.

With their solution they make it possible to capture the data optimally structured according to geoscientific aspects only once and then export it for the multitude of expert tools. In addition, data that might otherwise remain in the field books are digitized because they do not appear to be relevant for the current investigation case. Through our process, this data is not only collected more quickly for analysis, but is also made available completely digitally for the first time, enabling it to be evaluated at a later point in time or compared and linked to other data sets without any additional effort.

Digitize Rocks was founded in 2019 by Franziska Dobrigkeit, Wera Schmidt and Philipp Dobrigkeit. Philipp is an alumni of the Hasso Plattner Institute and founded several IT companies before Digitize Rocks. Franziska is currently a PhD student for Innovation Processes at the Hasso Plattner Institute. Wera is a PhD student in Sedimentology at the Institute of Geosciences at the University of Potsdam.
