Berlin Startup Stipend for WeMingo

Team WeMingo consisting of HPI alumnus Johannes Schirrmeister and Pavle Zagorscsak was awarded with a Berlin Startup Stipend in November 2016. The former finalists in the HPI business plan competition develop an online self-help program for people suffering from social anxiety.

The Berlin Startup Stipend is a new program designed to support the implementation of innovative, technology-driven business models over a period of six months. The program is financed with funds from the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises Berlin and the European Social Fund.

WeMingo is initially focusing on people suffering from Paruresis or Shy Bladder Syndrome, which is a special type of social phobia causing people to feel anxiety in public bathrooms. As a first outcome of the grant, the team has now published the “WeMingo Paruresis Tracker” app. The mobile application supports the more than 1.5 million sufferers in Germany in exercising self-monitoring and gradual exposure.

More information on the self-help program is available on WeMingo’s website.
