tele-Task: Learning Any Time Any Place

The tele-Task system is a technology from  Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) for the recording and transmission of lectures and talks via the Internet. Thanks to tele-Task, online users worldwide can access trainings, presentations,  and events in the form of both live and archived recordings.

Content can be accessed via the HPI portal: www.tele-TASK.de and also on iTunes U. Users are then able to flexibly take advantage of their available time for learning and information-gathering: whether on the go, in the bus, in the waiting room or outside in the park. In contrast to other solutions, tele-Task videos simultaneously show the speaker as well as his or her laptop or tablet presentation.

The tele-Task recording system is housed in a compact case and consists of a specially configured computer where the recording software is installed and ready for use. Further equipment includes a video camera and radio microphone. Even for complex scenarios, hardly any post-processing is necessary. The use of two camera allows for a change of perspective during the recording, and inserts can be embedded directly.

This mobile and easy-to-use system can also be used for the uncomplicated recording of online courses in Full HD. For example, the World Health Organization (WHO) uses tele-Task for its own online platform to train its employees worldwide in reacting to humanitarian crisis situations.
