HPI students write computer science text book

Arne Boockmeyer, Philipp Fischbeck, and Stefan Neubert, who have been working with and for the Algorithm Engineering group for some time, have written a book on how to study computer science. Fit fürs Studium - Informatik (in German) aims at high school graduates who are interested in majoring in informatics. It reviews the basic concepts of the field and bridges the gap between school education and university-level courses. The explanations include a plethora of examples and are complemented with self study exercises. Three postdocs of the group, Thomas Bläsius, Timo Kötzing, and Pascal Lenzner, supported the project by proofreading the manuscript.
