Scientific visitors in April

The Algorithm Engineering group will host a total of four scientific visitors in April.

Martin Gairing, the head of the Economics and Computation Group of the University of Liverpool will visit for three days starting April 9. His research focuses on algorithmic game theory with applications in economics, like auction theory.

Aneta and Frank Neumann will stay with us from April 14. Both are with the School of Computer Science of the University of Adelaide, where Frank is a Professor. They work in the field of bio-inspired computing. While Frank focuses on the theoretical foundations, Aneta explores the links to digital art. They are frequent visitors of the group and this time they will visit for two weeks.

On April 17 they will be joined by Heiner Ackermann. He is affiliated with the Optimization Department of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics in Kaiserslautern. He works on multi-criteria optimization problems in production planning. Ackermann is invited to give a talk at the 13th Symposium on Future Trends in Service-Oriented Computing⁩ at the HPI on April 19.
