The Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation (EFI) is composed of six members and provides scientific policy advice on topics relating to research, innovation, and Germany's technological performance. Led by the chairman Professor Uwe Cantner and the vice-chairwoman Professor Katharina Hölzle, the expert commission analyzes and evaluates relevant topics for the German innovation system. Thereupon, the EFI develops actionable recommendations for national research and innovation policy. This year's report focuses on three core topics - innovation location Eastern Germany, cybersecurity, and the exchange of knowledge and technology between Germany and China.

The report, as well as the summary and policy recommendations, can be found in the press section on the EFI website.
