The Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation (EFI), led by the chairman Professor Uwe Cantner and the vice-chairwoman Professor Katharina Hölzle, analyzes and evaluates relevant topics for the German innovation system. Thereupon, the EFI develops actionable recommendations for national research and innovation policy.
In this year's report, the focus lies on the following three core topics: the new mission-orientation and agility in research and innovation policy, the adaptation of vocational education and training for digital transformation, as well as gene editing and CRISPR/Cas. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the upcoming German parliamentary elections, this year's report further focuses on the pandemic's impact on research and innovation and presents policy recommendations for the next legislative period.
The report, as well as the summary and policy recommendations, can be found in the press section on the EFI website.
