Your scholarship to cover your computer science studies at Hasso Plattner Institute

We want to build a digital future for everyone and to do this we need you on board. While working in a team we create sustainable and relevant solutions. The need to become more diverse remains a pressing issue in the tech sector. Women still only make up around 17% of computer science students. Time to make a change! Are you with us?

Apply for the bachelor program at Hasso Plattner Institute and for one of ten scholarships for female computer science students. This will not only provide you with financial support during your studies, but also individual support on your career path.

In addition to a monthly stipend, the “Women-in-Tech Empower Pack” includes a variety of formats to guide and support you in your tech career.

The Women-in-Tech Empower Pack

Your scholarship will cover you through the normal period of study and, thus, also on your way to an IT career that is as individual as you are. As part of the Women-in-Tech Empower Pack, the following formats are included in your scholarship:

COACHING
Receive four individual coaching sessions per year
NETWORKING
Participate in networking events
ROLE MODELING
Become a role model yourself and pass on your experiences to the next generation

Key data on the scholarship:

Number of scholarships: 10 scholarships per semester
Scholarship amount: 1100 € per month
- (There are no tuition fees at HPI/Uni Potsdam! The scholarship is solely intended to cover living expenses)
Duration: 6 semesters
Application deadline: July 15 / every year

How to apply for a scholarship: application submission and selection

Step 1: Apply for the study program "IT-Systems Engineering" at HPI by July 15, 2023.

Step 2: Then, submit a letter of motivation via the following form for the Women in Tech Scholarship (lease note: Your application can only be considered if you have applied to study at HPI via Hochschulstart and the University of Potsdam *).

Selection Criteria: What motivates you? Your two-page letter of motivation is the key factor for the selection of scholarship holders. Another aspect is your Abitur grade.

* Tip: If you apply for several programs via Hochschulstart, prioritize IT-Systems Engineering to number 1 before the application phase is over if you really want to study at HPI. You can find all information here.
