International Branches of the HPI Research School
The external branches of the HPI Research Schools make it possible to expand the research content and guarantee a close exchange with foreign partners. The junior researchers work at their universities in foreign countries, but receive their scholarship from HPI in Germany. While under the joint supervision of their home professor, they are integrated into the HPI research activities and collaborate on conferences and symposia.
The following external branches belong to the research school:
- Haifa, Israel
Since April 2010 a "HPI Research School at Technion, Haifa"has existed in cooperation with the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. The research work of the PhD students engaged here is carried out in the name of the HPI Research School.
- Cape Town, South Africa
South Africa has been the location of a branch of the HPI Research School since April 2009. The PhDs at the "HPI Research School at University of Cape Town" dedicate themselves primarily to computer science and communication technologies that are important for developing and emerging countries.
