Short Bio
Anne Sophie Platzbecker, MD, is a physician-scientist specializing in hematology, oncology, and digital health. She earned her medical degree at the Technical University of Dresden and completed her residency and fellowship in internal medicine and hematology/oncology at University Hospital Leipzig.
She has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at ARC Innovation at Sheba Medical Center in Israel and the Leukemia Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Her research focuses on integrating clinical medicine with innovative technologies, including projects like KAIT, an AI-powered therapy decision-support tool, and CYNERGY, a project predicting cytokine release syndrome (CRS) after CAR-T cell therapy.
In addition to her clinical and research roles, she holds an MBA in Healthcare Innovation, enabling her to bridge medicine and healthcare transformation. She organizes professional events such as Shaping the Future of Medicine and actively contributes to international collaborations aimed at enhancing patient care. Since 2025, Dr. Kubasch has been developing the "Hospital-at-Home" initiative at the Hasso Plattner Institute and the Else Kröner Center for Digital Health, focusing on innovative models of care that bring advanced digital health solutions to patients' homes.
Research Interests
My research focuses on transforming healthcare delivery through the integration of digital health technologies, with a special emphasis on the "Hospital-at-Home" (HaH) model. This concept involves the provision of hospital-level care in the comfort of a patient’s home, supported by advanced digital tools, mobile medical teams, and a patient-centered approach.I aim to foster innovation by designing and implementing efficient, cost-effective, and scalable healthcare solutions that enhance patient outcomes and improve their quality of life. My work also involves interdisciplinary collaboration, leveraging insights from stakeholders, including healthcare providers, technology experts, and international partners, such as Sheba Medical Center and MD Anderson Cancer Center. In particular, my research explores use cases in hematology and oncology, geriatrics, and post-surgical care, focusing on areas such as symptom management, wound care, and digital biomarkers. By integrating AI-based monitoring and decision support tools, I strive to set new benchmarks in accessible, value-based care in the HaH area.
