Digital Masterpieces GmbH is a software technology company that concentrates on solutions generating added value for digital visual media such as photos and videos. Our approach consists of techniques and methods that analyze and exploit geometric, topologic and semantic features of visual media which are automatically identified, evaluated and transformed by high performance computer vision & computer graphics algorithms. These form the basis for a number of creative tools, apps, systems and services for all industries that create, manage, use and distribute visual media.
Digital Masterpieces GmbH was founded in 2013 as a spin-off of the Computer Graphics Systems Group at the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) in Potsdam, Germany; HPI was founded by Hasso Plattner, who co-founded the software giant SAP and is currently its chairman of supervisory board. The HPI also maintains strong international contacts, for example with Stanford University. The majority of the Digital Masterpieces team, especially research & development, are PHD students from the HPI. Due to the bilateral cooperation, Digital Masterpieces is able to integrate innovation from research and share the experience with the next generation of young, motivated and growing iOS developers and Apple enthusiasts.
