Five papers accepted at PPSN

The International Conference on Parallel Problem Solving from Nature (PPSN) is a biennial meeting that brings together researchers and practitioners in the field of Natural Computing. Its 15th edition will be held in Coimbra, Portugal this year on September 8-12. The Algorithm Engineering group contributes five papers in total.

Timo Kötzing, a Senior Researcher with the group, has four accepted papers which makes him one of the two most prolific authors of this-years PPSN, with Hisao Ishibuchi (SUSTech) being the other. One of Timo's papers, First-Hitting Times Under Additive Drift together with Martin Krejca, is nominated for a best paper award.

The article Ring Migration Topology Helps Bypassing Local Optima is based on the master's thesis of Clemens Frahnow.
