Sabine De Schutter

Sabine De Schutter is a Berlin-based lighting architect with a second masters degree in interior design. Early on, she discovered the need for a human-centered approach to design and architecture, which lead her to discover Design Thinking. Being able to successfully combine Lighting Design with Design Thinking, she runs lighting design workshops - engaging participants in universities and lighting festivals across Europe.

Besides coaching at the HPI D-School, she is a member of the faculty at Hochschule Wismar, where she teaches Architectural Lighting Design. Sabine is a serial entrepreneur, runs her own Architectural Lighting Design practice – Studio De Schutter in Berlin. For her research and design projects, she has won several awards and competitions.

When Sabine, the born and raised Belgian, is not busy building furniture, visiting museums or eating chocolate, she enjoys going for runs through the city and neither heat wave nor snow can stop her!
