More than 900 Design Thinkers join d.confestival

From 14–16 September 2017, more than 900 innovation experts and creative thinkers from more than 40 countries gathered at the “d.confestival,” which took place at Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) in Potsdam.

Over the course of three days everything revolved around the innovation approach of Design Thinking. In 26 panels and presentations, 32 workshops, and more than 20 activities participants engaged in discussions about the future of work, mobility, and learning and developed new concepts for the application of Design Thinking in business, education, or science.

The international Design Thinking festival also marked the 10-year anniversary of the HPI School of Design Thinking (HPI D-School). In a festive gala ceremony in the d.confestival circus tent, Design Thinking pioneers like Hasso Plattner, Bernie Roth, and Larry Leifer sent their congratulations and wishes for the next ten years.

The 10th anniversary of the HPI D-School also presented a perfect opportunity to launch the Global Design Thinking Association (GDTA). The GDTA is a network of institutions that teach, research and further develop the methods and mindsets of Design Thinking. At the d.confestival representatives from the D-Schools in China, Malaysia, South Africa, and Germany signed the association charta and announced Uli Weinberg, Director of the HPI D-School, as the founding president of the GDTA.
