"Internet Weaknesses and Targets (Beijing)"

Tutors: Feng Cheng (HPI), Sebastian Roschke (HPI), and Dr. Lijuan Duan (BJUT) 

"Internet Security - Weaknesses and Targets" is based on "Internet- & WWW-Technologies" and gives a detailed introduction on problems concerning Internet and Intranet security. After starting with some remarks on risk analysis and computer crimes, security weaknesses and targets are discussed in detail. Beside others the following topics are discussed in detail: human factor and technical failures, attacks on accounts and passwords, attacks on Internet protocol, misuse of design and programming errors, weaknesses in common operating systems, targets in the WWW, and viruses. The lecture course concludes with a discussion about the possibilities to detect attacks and intrusions and also describes ethical issuses.

"Internet Weaknesses and Targets (Beijing)"

The course "Internet Weaknesses and Targets" gives a detailed introduction into problems concerning Internet and Intranet security. After starting with an overview about the Internet and Web technologies an introduction into risk analysis is given and various aspects of computer crimes are discussed. Then various security weaknesses and targets of Internet and WWW are discussed in detail. Beside others the following topics are treated: Human factor and technical failures, viruses, (online) reconnaissance and OS fingerprinting, attacks on accounts and passwords, attacks on Internet protocols, misuse of design and programming errors, weaknesses in common operating systems, and targets in the WWW. The lecture course is closed with an overview how to detect attacks and intrusions, and a deeper discussion of ethical issues.

"Internet Security (Beijing)"

Lecturer: Prof. Dr. Christoph Meinel
"Internet Security" is a lecture dedicated specially for nearly 100 students from Beijing University of Technology in Chinas. It explains the function mode and architecture of Internets and Intranets and discusses important Internet protocols like IP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, as well as Internet addressing and DNS. Moreover, the Internet Protocol Next Generation - IPv6 - will be introduced. Furthermore important Internet services like WWW, email, ftp, telnet and more will be introduced. Encryption standards like IPSec show possibilities for information security. The first lecutres provide the basic understanding for a discussion of security weaknesses of Internet and Intranets and possible targets for attacks over the Internet which will be treated in the second lecture part "Weaknesses and Targets".

"Internet Security (Beijing)"

"Internet Security" is a lecture dedicated specially for nearly 50 students from Beijing University of Technology in China. This lecture will cover most of all the knowledge of Internet security. It includes two parts: Internet Technology, Weakness and Targets.

"Internet Security I - Internet Technology"

"Internet Technology" is the first part of the Internet Security Tele-lecture course  for computer science students in Trier and in Beijing. Every Friday 8 o'clock (Central European Time) a lecture was transmitted to the Internet. For exercises and training a web-forum is set up.

"Internet Security - Weaknesses and Targets"

 "Internet Technology" is the second part of the Internet Security Tele-lecture course.  Every Tuesday and Thursday on 8 o'clock (Central European Time), together with other Internet users, the Chinese students took part over the Internet in this lecture.
