Security for the Internet of Things (Sommersemester 2015)

Dozent: Prof. Dr. Christoph Meinel (Internet-Technologien und -Systeme) , Konrad-Felix Krentz (Internet-Technologien und -Systeme)

Beschreibung

Interconnecting embedded devices with the Internet leads to the so-called Internet of things. The Internet of things is envisioned to realize fascinating applications, such as smart cities, industrial monitoring, and precision agriculture. These applications will involve large numbers of wireless embedded devices that communicate with each other and remote hosts using IPv6. Securing the Internet of things is of paramount importance, but many security issues persist.

Leistungserfassung

The final grade will be based on an intermediate presentation, a final presentation, a final paper, as well as the implementation.

Termine

In our first meeting on April 21st, the participants of this seminar will choose a specific security issue to work on. Two small teams will be formed, each of which will add a security feature to Contiki (http://www.contiki-os.org/), an open-source operating system for IoT devices.
