Decision Analysis and Implementation (Sommersemester 2016)

Beschreibung

The aim of this seminar is to introduce students to current research in the field of Business Process Management (BPM). BPM is a discipline that applies IT systems to operational business processes performed in an organizational or technical environment. Students will have the opportunity to dive into a specific research topic for obtaining detailed knowledge from related work. To gain an understanding on the practical use, the students may be asked to implement a small prototype which tackles some of the research problems of the chosen topic. Topics include:

  • Comparative Evaluation of Existing BPM Simulation Tools
  • Flexibility of Processes and Decisions
  • Fuzzy Decision Mining
  • Visualizing Cases with bpmn.io
  • Load Generation for Process Engine
  • Benchmarking of Camunda Process Engine
  • Tourist Guide, Taxi Finder, Where to Buy (Obiquitous Computing in BPM)
  • Generating REST API from RESTful Choreographies
  • Automatic Test Data Generation for Case Models
  • Consistency Between Process, Decision and Data Models
  • Bayesian Networks for DMN Decision Tables

Voraussetzungen

The lecture is for Master students with an interest in BPM. 

Literatur

The presentation of topics and corresponding literature will be given at the kick-off meeting.

Leistungserfassung

Each student is graded by:

1) one short presentation at the beginning of the semester,
2) one final presentation at the end of the semester, and
3) one paper on the work done throughout the semester.

Termine

The kick-off meeting will take place on Tuesday 12th April at 13:30 in A 1.2.
