We are happy to announce the Quantum-Inspired Challenge carried out by Fujitsu, supported by the HPI Future SOC Lab. We will kick-off the one-month challenge with an interactive session introducing the Digital Annealer and QUBOS on Friday, May 6, 2022.

What is the Digital Annealer? 

The Digital Annealer is an available future-proof on-ramp to Quantum Computing for solving real-world combinatorial optimization problems today. Using state-of-the-art, special-purpose digital technology, quantum-inspired approaches (superposition, entanglement, tunneling) are leveraged to tackle industry-relevant problems.

    Upon registration, each individual participant will receive confirmation and a link automatically.

    • The session will include a presentation providing insights into the unique approach underpinned by customer engagements in Germany and globally. The event will conclude with a joint HPI and Fujitsu offering to all students interested in the latest problem-solving technologies.
    • Feel free to bring your questions with you and make yourself familiar with the Digital Annealer Tutorials prior to the event. (The session will be recorded).

     

    June 1st to 30th

    Challenge solving period.

    The Quantum-inspired Challenge presents the “world’s most complex Sudoku” to solve using digital annealing.

    All required information is contained in a Juypter Notebook, which you can download here.
    (Note that the acceptable use policy has to be acknowlegded to take part in the challenge.)

    We will provide participating teams with access to the Digital Annealer for one month.

    Note: You should start with the Fujitsu-provided Digital Annealer Tutorial (link down below) and continue with the Sudoku challenge.

    To gain access to the tutorials, which include self-learning material, tutorials, and a CPU-based solver (for small-sized problems):

    • First, register yourself with your name and email.
