The international Symposium on Big Data in Medicine at the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) in Potsdam discusses Big Data as a game-changer for healthcare.

Big Data is likely to have a groundbreaking effect in all areas – from health service to population health management and from prevention to treatment and care. Yet, though there are many positive effects to be expected, numerous questions also arise: How will the way doctors and hospitals work change in future? What new questions arise for patients with Big Data – for example, how can the loud call for data security be answered?

The symposium is organized by HPI and HIMSS IMPACT and provide concrete information on the current state of play. Delegates also hear about and get an opportunity to discuss the new Healthcare requirements.
