Data & AI Master's Track
Synopsis: The Data & AI Master's Track enables students pursuing an M.Sc. in Computer Science at the Hasso Plattner Institut to specialize in data management and artificial intelligence. To meet the track requirements, students must complete the following compulsory modules: (1) Computer Science Lab; (2) Critical Reading and Discussion; (3) Research Methods and Ethics; (4) Data Analytics; (5) Data Systems; and (6) one module from the Professional Skills area.
- There are also Compulsory Elective Modules (Data & AI Track-Specific). Three of these modules must be taken, including at least two "Core" modules: (I) Advanced Data Systems; (II) AI Applications; (III) Data Integration; (IV) Machine Learning; (V) Probabilistic Machine Learning.
- Compulsory Elective Modules (Cross-Track). Five additional modules must be taken from the compulsory or compulsory elective area of any track (including the Data & AI one). One of these modules may also be a professional skills module that has not yet been taken. Additionally, one module may be the Individual Research Project, "HPI-CS-IRP".
