The research group Computational Genomics, headed by Prof. Helene Kretzmer, is dedicated to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of biological and clinical informatics.
We study the role of epigenetic regulation in healthy and diseased states, with an emphasis on genome-wide DNA methylation changes. We use and develop advanced computational methods to analyze multi-modal genomic data, including single-cell RNA-seq and long-read sequencing, to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying disease.
By integrating basic and translational research, our work aims to enhance personalized medicine and improve disease diagnostics.
