IT-Systems Engineering BA

Description

As a specialist in the computer sciences, digital design, systems analysis, or informatics, your future could include developing programs and systems as a service to other sectors of a business organization, such as a leadership assessment or teambuilding tool for human resources, calibrating metrics for research and development, implementing environmental controls for an industrial complex, or determining customer preferences for a newly-developed product.

This course will provide a fundamental understanding of the driving principles and functions of a business organization, strengthen your English language skills, as well as develop your rhetoric, critical thinking and problem solving abilities to not only help you apply your technical knowledge more effectively, but also be more proficient communicator.

Using short business case studies, you will evaluate situations in various business settings, define the problem, propose a solution, and support why your proposal is an optimal solution based on the given information. To strengthen your writing skills, you will work in small groups to evaluate and reinforce academic writing style, rhetorical constructions and critical thinking abilities in analysing business case studies.

You will work independently to assess your English grammar proficiency and be given tools to strengthen your identified weakness. To further develop your listening comprehension skills, there will be exercises at various intervals throughout the semester. You will also have access to a library of material for self-paced learning.

The number of participants is limited to encourage maximally effective learning in a 90-minute weekly course offering.
