Description
The goal of this course is to overview the core functionality of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and address the options of delivering the functionality to a customer. The theoretical part of the course is supplemented by examples from SAP ERP and SAP Business ByDesign portfolio.
The structure of the course
Part I describes the core functionality of an ERP system (e.g., accounting, procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, sales and distribution, transportation, human capital management).
Part II addresses the issue of delivering the aforementioned functionality to customers, that is, how ERP systems are deployed. Here, two possibilities are discussed:
- on-premise model
- on-demand model.
Additionally, the technical challenges and existing solutions of both deployment options are discussed.
