Description
Any technology, while advancing knowledge and capabilities of society, can simultaneously be misused. Together, we will explore the potential of misusing recent advances in computer sciences, and more specifically in information management. The core idea of the seminar is to systematically analyze all published papers of one (or more) 2019 computer science conference proceedings, examining the presented technology, the use-cases, the datasets and the conducted experiments. Based on the insights we will develop a classification of possibly misuses and categorize the articles accordingly. In addition, we will design and categorize possible remedies to address ethical problems in scientific papers and scientific output. We will jointly write a corresponding report of our findings, insights and ideas.
