The debate about fairness in the use of AI in medicine is gaining momentum. Currently, the focus of the discussion is on identifying erroneous predictions from algorithms and metrics based on the simplistic idea of fairness as equality. However, not all algorithms whose predictions are correct and conform to such metrics are considered fair and equitable.
