The World Health Organization (WHO) classifies the increasing resistance of pathogens to antibiotics as a global danger. According to the latest findings, 1.27 million people died in 2019 because antibiotics did not work against infections. Prof. Lothar H. Wieler, head of the Digital Global Public Health department at the HPI, is committed to curbing the spread of antibiotic resistance more effectively.
