Successful participation at ICPC NWERC

The Northwestern Europe Regional Contest 2020 (NWERC), an official regional contest in the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, was hosted by the Reykjavík University on 28 March 2021. It draws students from colleges and universities throughout Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Great Britain, Ireland, Iceland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Luxembourg. Trained in the Competitive Programming lectures of the Algorithm Engineering group as well as in the Competitive Programming student club of the HPI, three HPI student teams participated successfully in this international Competitive Programming contest by achieving ranks 15, 33 and 62 out of 120 teams from all over North and West Europe, compare with the official scoreboard. The following students represented HPI at NWERC 2020:

  • Team "Hexaflexagons" (15.): Sebastian Angrick, Niko Hastrich, Jonas Schmidt
  • Team "German Center for Plattnerpus Care" (33.): Nicolas Klodt, Jannik Peters, Arthur Zahn
  • Team "Hassos Portable Informatiker" (62.): Simon Cyrani, Jan Groeneveld, Lukas Rost
