We want to send a warm welcome to our new member Christian Wallisch. He will start working at the chair on april 1st.
Christian did his BSc and MSc at TU Berlin. In his bachelor's thesis he studied parameterized algorithms for a graph problem motivated by the challenge of placing wildlife crossings. For his master’s thesis, he studied approximation algorithms for another graph problem, namely finding spanning tree configurations minimizing power loss in electrical networks. In addition, he designed and implemented heuristic scheduling algorithms during an internship in industry.
Christian will join the algorithm engineering chair to get his PhD degree.
