German National Computer Science Competition

The final round of the German National Computer Science Competition („Bundeswettbewerb Informatik“) took place in Jena from September 20 till 23, 2016.  The competition addresses young people aged up to 21 years who want to be able to control computers productively, rather than just use them.  In the third and final round of the competition the high-school students had to pass several oral exams with university professors and solve two group projects. Prof. Friedrich was one of the two jury members from the Hasso Plattner Institute.  Several finalists will join the HPI in October. Next year, HPI will host the final round of the competition.
