HPI team secures third spot at PACE challenge

In the international Parameterized Algorithms and Computational Experiments (PACE) challenge, teams are tasked to solve as many instances of a hard problem as possible in a given time limit. The hard problem to solve for the 2022 challenge, which ran from September 2021 until this June, was the directed feedback vertex set problem. This year, students of the PACE Challenge 2022 course of the Algorithm Engineering group secured a third spot of the exact track. The team consists of Sebastian Angrick, Ben Bals, Niko Hastrich, Theresa Hradilak, Otto Kißig, Jonas Schmidt, Leo Wendt, who were advised by Katrin Casel, Sarel Cohen and Davis Issac. We wish to express our congratulations!
