Alterations in the human microbiome are known to cause severe health problems such as autoimmune diseases and various cancers. Closely related bacterial species can present large phenotypic differences, even if they have very similar genomes. It is therefore crucial to focus on how similiar species differ and how these deviations affect the microbiome. My research consists of using statistical tools to enhance taxa quantification and differential testing.

- Biostatistics/ Metagenomics
- Taxa abundance/ quantification
