AI @ HPI Conference 2024

December 3-4, 2024

In an era marked by rapid technological advancements, the societal implications of artificial intelligence (AI) have never been more pronounced. At the forefront of this dialogue, the Hasso Plattner Institute is proud to host a conference dedicated to elevating the discourse on Responsible AI. With a focus on ethics and governance, we want to advance AI's journey towards ethical, sustainable and responsible development and adoption. The conference aims to explore the complexities of responsible AI through two key pillars: AI Ethics and AI Governance.

At a glance

AI Ethics …

… will explore the moral implications and societal impact of AI technologies. From addressing bias in algorithms to ensuring fairness and transparency in decision-making processes, this topic aims to foster discussions on upholding ethical standards in AI development and utilization.

AI Governance …

… examines the legal and policy frameworks necessary to govern AI responsibly. This topic explores strategies to ensure that AI systems adhere to legal, ethical, and societal norms. In addition, we will look at the transformative impact of AI on the labor market, discussing how AI can address skills shortages, changes in workflows and broader economic impacts, and whether European companies can keep pace with other markets. We will also explore the future of work, the skills needed for AI-driven economies and strategies for a fair transition for all workers.

At the Responsible AI Conference 2024, we unite experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to foster awareness and drive societal engagement, shaping an AI landscape defined by ethics, sustainability, and accountability.
