Celebrating 10 Years of HPI Academy

In the early years, companies involved in student projects on the HPI campus quickly discovered the excitement of the topics, which are researched and taught at the Hasso Plattner Institute. The wish soon grew among them to not only accompany student projects, but to actually drive innovation processes in their own companies. This customer wish was the initial spark for the foundation of the Hasso-Plattner-Institute Academy (HPI Academy) on March 20, 2009.

The HPI Academy has a broad portfolio in the areas of design thinking, IT and digitization.

Every year, around 3,000 professionals come to the HPI Academy for further training and to be inspired by the atmosphere on campus.

The training and continuing education the HPI Academy offers is as diverse as the challenges the customers face:

In working with our customers, we experience the great challenges that confront companies today. At the same time, we also see the effective innovative power of Design Thinking. In the 2015 study "Parts Without a Whole? - The Current State of Design Thinking Practice in Organizations" an overwhelming majority of respondents (71 percent) stated that Design Thinking has improved their working culture, especially in teams. Innovation processes became considerably more efficient for many users (69 percent), and user involvement happened more often (48 percent).

Together with our customers, we have been shaping transformation and driving innovation forward for 10 years.
