Purpose of data processing

For an empirical study in the context of my doctoral thesis on innovation behaviour of users, survey data of individuals are collected for scientific research purposes. Individuals are surveyed anonymously. The evaluation of the data serves exclusively as a basis for scientific publications. The data evaluation takes place on the level of individuals.

Legal basis of the data processing

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a DSGVO (consent).

Right of revocation

You have the right to revoke your consent at any time. The revocation of your consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of your consent until the revocation.

Duration of data storage

The consent forms and survey data, in anonymised form, are stored for a maximum of 10 years after the publication of the scientific publications as proof of the correct scientific work. The data is stored on a secure server at the University of Potsdam.

Recipient of the data

The survey data are made available in aggregated form exclusively for the scientific review process to internally and externally appointed reviewers. Personal data are not affected by the transfer.

The data is collected with the survey software SoSciSurvey. SoSciSurvey is an established German software for conducting surveys in the scientific community. All data is stored exclusively on German servers in accordance with applicable law for the duration of the data collection. There is a contract for order-related data processing with SoSciSurvey. The data is only processed by the project owners (University of Potsdam). SoSciSurvey does not process or handle the data.

Your rights

You have the right to request information from us about the processing of personal data concerning you. In addition to a copy of the personal data, this right of information also includes the purposes of data processing, data recipients and the storage period.

Should incorrect personal data be processed, you can demand that we correct this data immediately. If the legal requirements of Art. 17 or 18 DSGVO are met, you also have the basic right to immediate deletion of personal data or to a restriction of processing. Please note that a limited processing of the data may not be possible under certain circumstances. You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, common and machine-readable format or to request that it be transferred to another responsible party (Art. 20 DSGVO). Furthermore, you can object to the processing under the conditions of Art. 21 DSGVO.
