The primary focus of my research lies in the field of electronic health records (EHR) in collaboration with the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Health at Mount Sinai. My work is centered around leveraging the power of natural language processing (NLP) to gain valuable insights from unstructured clinical text. Currently, my research focuses on information extraction for Crohn's disease - a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract, characterized by symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhea, and weight loss.
As the digital health landscape is rapidly evolving nowadays, I additionally work on exploring the broader influence and implications of digital health products, like DiGAs, on patient outcomes and clinical care.
