Philipp Fischbeck and Christopher Weyand were both awarded a stipend of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes). The foundation, under the patronage of the President of Germany, supports young people who are expected to make an outstanding contribution to society on account of their exceptional academic talent. Fewer than 0.5% of all German students receive this honor. The two recipients will use their scholarship to pursue a PhD with the Algorithm Engineering group. Philipp will work on Efficient Algorithms on Realistic Networks, while Christopher focusses on the Analysis and Engineering of Scale-Free Network Models.
