The International Symposium on Algorithms and Computation (ISAAC) is the premier algorithms conference in Asia. Two of this year's ISAAC papers are co-authored by current and former members of the Algorithm Engineering group. Louise Molitor and Tobias Friedrich, joined by Thomas Bläsius (now at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) and Martin Krejca (now at Sorbonne University, CNRS, LIP6), will present their work on the Flip Schelling Process. Nikhil Kumar together with colleagues from Twente and Singapore give faster and simple combinatorial algorithms for scheduling jobs to minimize energy. ISAAC 2021 is planned for December 6-8 as a hybrid event in Fukuoka, Japan.
