Research Project: Virtual Compressor

funded by ERDF and ILB

Principal Investigator: Tobias Friedrich
Project Partner: Industrial Analytics Berlin
Project term: November 2018 to October 2021
Funded by: The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB)

The project aims at improving the reliability of large turbomachinery by the use of a physical substitute model. This "virtual compressor" is part of a system for permanent machine monitoring and predictive maintenance. The solution integrates data acquisition directly at the real machine, an IoT platform for saving and visualization the data, the substitute, and a machine-dependent analysis tool. Our research group is responsible for developing AI methods for anomaly detection, forecasts, and data compression.
