The department of Digital Technology, Governance and Policy was established at the Hasso Plattner Institute in October 2023. It is led by Prof. Dr. Gillian Bolsover. The academic focus of the Digital Technology, Governance and Policy department is on the impact of digital technology on politics and society. The team’s research foci include: 

• Misinformation, propaganda and online influence operations 

• Populism, extremism and political violence 

• Polarization and inequality 

• Quality and strength of democracies and authoritarian diffusion

Computational Science Student with knowledge of LLMs wanted! (m/f/d)
 

We are looking for a motivated computational science student for the Prof. Dr Bolsover office to help
in the development of a data visualizer for our project.

What we want from you:
- Good command of Python is required (R is a plus)
- Experience with fine-tuning Large Language Models
- Data management skills
- Experience with data visualization tools
- Willingness to learn and problem solving
- Ability to work independently and manage own working time
- Familiarity with international politics is a plus
