The department is developing teaching offerings to bring social science perspectives and computational social science methods within the area of digital technologies, governance and policy to the HPI.
Digital Technology, Governance and Policy
Our research group investigates the intersection of politics and digital technologies, with a focus on the global south and other less studied political contexts. The department is committed to knowledge dissemination, policy impact and public engagement. The research aims to develop a global picture of democracy worldwide through studies of elections in a variety of contexts, including in-depth case studies of elections.
