About us

The world is undergoing a rapid digital transformation. In the area of healthcare, this transformation already has great impact and the introduction of new technologies continues to shape changing healthcare practices. The digital health research cluster continues to enhance its research focus, by converging healthcare with public health and taking a more holistic approach towards digital health. Our cluster is dynamic and interdisciplinary and dedicated to research with a patient-centered and data-driven approach. Our aim is to utilize and continuously develop digital technologies in the fields of medicine, healthcare and public health in order to improve health and well-being of an individual as well as larger communities.

As part of our cluster, we offer both students and researchers the opportunity to actively participate in our projects and benefit from an inspiring and collaborative research environment. HPI Digital Health Cluster

The Cluster assumes an open, inclusive network structure of researchers, projects and research institutions in order to empower patients and to transform healthcare with innovative digital health solutions. Research at HPI DHC is organized in five divisions (Fachbereiche), including Digital Global Public Health (led by Professor Lothar Wieler), Machine Learning in Digital Health (led by Professor Christoph Lippert),  Connected Healthcare (led by Professor Bert Arnrich), Data Analytics and Computational Statistics (led by Professor Bernhard Renard) and Digital Health, Economics & Policy (led by Professor Ariel Stern)
